Palm Sunday
April 8th, 2006 | by Ed |Do you know the meaning and signifiicance of Palm Sunday? Palm Sunday set into motion a series of events that would culminate in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Many point to Palm Sunday as the triumphal procession and coronation of Christ. But, if that’s the case, this has to be the most unusual coronation in history! The whole scene looks more like a caricature of a coronation than a real coronation. And His “triumphal procession” would hardly intimidate the might of Rome. What gives?
I hope you can join us at church tomorrow as we celebrate Palm Sunday. I’ll be teaching on how Palm Sunday reveals insight into the nature of Christ’s kingship and the kind of kingdom He came to establish. We’ll also be looking at the real coronation of Jesus.
