What a Great Day!
October 30th, 2006 | by Ed |Wasn’t our 15th anniversary service something special!?
After an inspiring time of worship (capped off with a beautiful song by our vocalists), Mark McGrath did a great job of reminding us of “our DNA” as a church–conviction, commitment and community.
Then, during our 10:30 service, we had some additional treats. We had two of the cutest babies in the world dedicated to the Lord–Alexander Valdes Davis and Carl Robert Flocco. A special congratulations to parents Stacy and Mike, as well as to David and Ann!
It was a really special treat to hear Jamie Hutzel, a former worship leader at MCC, sing again. His talented singing, combined with a heart of reverent worship, made the song truly come alive.
And your tribute to the church leadership in honor of “Clergy Appreciation Month,” was very moving. I’m sure I speak for Jeff and Neil in expressing our deepest appreciation and thanks to all of you for your love and support. There’s no greater job on earth!
Finally, the memorial stones were a great touch. They were such an appropriate symbol for our church.
Like those stones, our church is: (1) Accessible to all–not just the spiritual, the elite, the talented, or the powerful; (2) Simple and unadorned–not pretentious or extravagant; (3) Something that only God could create–and, because it is something that only God could create, it is; (4) Enduring.
Alll I can say is, “What a great God, God must be!”
