It’s Been Awhile
March 19th, 2007 | by Ed |I can’t believe that my last blog entry was in 2006! Probably no one will even read this–everyone who follows my blog has no doubt given up checking out my blog by now.
Except Craig. Craig told me Sunday that he checks out my blog every day, waiting for me to resume blogging. So, for Craig, and for everyone else who hasn’t given up on me yet, here’s my latest.
Actually, a lot has happened since 2006, so I’ll give an update on what’s been happening.
In addition to her responsibilities for the nursery and two Beth Moore Bible studies, my wife Janet recently joined the church staff working as my part-time personal assistant. She’s been a great help to me and we make a great team!
My daughter Patti moved back home from Washington, DC in September. She got a great job in NYC. But the commute into the city and back home every day is a killer–3 hours every day. So, on April 1st, Patti will be moving into her new apartment in Jersey City. This should make it a lot easier (and quicker) for her to get to and from work each day.
My daughter Nancy is enjoying married life. Nancy and Richard just got back from spending a week in Dania Beach, Florida (next to Fort Lauderdale)…80 degrees every day! Nancy will be finishing up school in May and then preparing to take the test for her RN license this summer.
My daughter Lori can’t wait until July…she’s going to spend the month of July in India! It’s always been a dream of hers to go to India. She’s been accepted in a program sponsored by Global Crossroad to do volunteer service helping in an orphanage in Delhi
And my son Steven? Well, Steven is waiting for the snow to melt so that he can resume his passion–skateboarding. He’s a Junior in high school, so he’s presently exploring his options for college.
And me? Well, I’ve got a new secretary and several more empty bedrooms in my house.

hi pastor ed. isn’t this too funny that i check your blog today. i’ve been keeping up with this message series. since…i feel like a miserable failure! forgive me and God Bless you abundantly for your grace towards me. it’s got me started on really finding out what “grace in a world of ungrace” means. any book recommendations other than sandy’s to read what’s so amazing about grace? oh and i’m glad you and janet make a great team. i was wondering how it would be working together.

I wondered how you have been and was actually surfing the net to find the exact place again to hear your sermons. I miss them so very much. The pastor here in South Africa is nice and great, but I miss the depth and the life and how everything you have said had made perfect sense. Theoretically I have always fully agreed, just on the practical side I am a complete failure… to put into practice what my mind has received. Anyway. If you read this, could you let me know where and how I can listen to your sermons? Silke

I know it probably is goofy of me because I work in the office with you but I too look at your blog often to see what you write and have been disappointed that it had been so long between entries.
Although I have been faithful about listening on Sundays, you have such wisdom, that I am eagar to receive all you can share.
Actually, I started my blogging too aftr seeing this one of yours and it has been a such a wonderful outlet for me. My prayer is that the Lord will free you up to do this more.
And of course, I just love have Janet’s sweetness around here at the office. She is like a summer breeze!

Hooray! Pastor Ed is back blogging. Quite an accomplishment to keep a blog around for more than a year.
Silke, you can access the sermons at the church’s website. Click resources in the navigation menu and then click “Online Messages” - hope that helps.
We look forward to visiting soon.
