Update

Greetings!

It’s been awhile since I’ve blogged, so I thought I’d update you on what’s happening with me and my family. We’ve been on vacation this week. Janet’s sister and her husband, Joan and John, are visitng from California.

The early part of the week was a sleep-late, putter-around-the-house, catch-up-on-reading, run-some-errands kind of vacation. Then we spent a few days up in Newport, Rhode Island.

Newport is a beautiful town known for it’s quaint shops, magnificent ships, historic sites, and the “Newport Mansions” — elegant, luxurious mansions of the rich and famous that you can tour (in case you want a few decorating tips).

We toured “The Breakers,” the 70-room summer home of the Vanderbilts modeled after the castles of the Italian royalty during the Renaisance. Not bad.

Nancy, who recently graduated with a BS in Nursing, now has a job. Beginning in August, she will be working as an RN in the pediatrics department at Chilton Memorial Hospital in Pompton Plains. Even better, she’s working on the day-time shift! Congratulations Nancy!

Meanwhile, she will be studying hard to pass her Board exam at the end of July. Then she’ll officially become an RN.

Lori is all packed and ready to go to India. Her flight leaves tonight. She’ll be there for the month of July, doing volunteer service in an orphanage. It has long been a dream of Lori’s to go to India. Our blessing and prayers are with you Lori for a wonderful trip!

Steven has been at Creation 2007 this week, a Christian teaching and music festival in Pennsylvania.

And Patti…well, Patti’s been working overtime at work to meet a project deadline while the rest of us are in Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, and India! Hang in there Pat, vacation’s coming!

Then there’s Wendell (our 10-month old puppy). He’s been going through an identity crisis: he doesn’t know if his name is Wendell or “No, No, Bad Dog.” But he’s really cute!
