What a Faithful God!

This Sunday, I’ll be continuing my series entitled “What a Good God, God Is!”

We’re going to look at another important expression of God’s goodness–God’s faithfulness. When God caused all His goodness to pass in front of Moses on Mt. Sinai, He included His abundant faithfulness as one of the aspects of His goodness.

We sing about it all the time: “What a faithful God have I!” But what does that mean? How does that help me live out my faith?

Among other things, the faithfulness of God means that God is a God who won’t let you go, and won’t let you down. The title of my message is “A God Who Won’t Let You Down.” In a world where we are so often disappointed by people who let us down, we serve a God who will never disappoint us, never forget us, never fail us. His word is true, His character is trustworthy, His promises are sure.

We’re also going to look closely at one of the most important words in the Old Testament, the word chesed (”lovingkindness”) which is used 248X in the Old Testament. This word brings out the importance of covenant: God is a covenant-keeping God.

Let the faithfulness of God encourage  your faith, inspire renewed hope, and fortify your resolve to persevere on the journey of faith. God is a faithful God!
