“Like I Always Say…”

June 15th, 2008 | by Ed |

The writer of the Book of Hebrews on at least one occasion says, “as someone somewhere has said…” Then he goes on to quote word for word a lengthy passage from the Old Testament! He knew the quote but he didn’t knew where it came from or who said it.

I can relate to him. Most of the sayings that I quote, I’ve quoted so long that I have no idea where I’ve read it. So, if I’ve said a saying enough times, I simply preface it with, “Like I always say…”

So, like I always say…

  * The only thing more dangerous than opening your heart is closing your heart; the only thing worse than a broken heart is an unbreakable heart.

  * Grace means that there is nothing you can do to get God to love you any more, and there is nothing you can do to get God to love you any less (Yancy).

  * God’s will done in God’s time will never lack God’s power to accomplish God’s purpose.

  * God rarely gives reasons, but He always gives promises.

  * Don’t let go of in the dark what God has revealed to you in the light.

  * The New is in the Old contained, the Old is in the New explained.

  * There’s a big difference between training to do something, and trying to do something.

  * Life conspires in every way possible, short of violating our free will, to make us mature.

  * Are you living your life by design or default?

  * God calls us to be peacemakers, not peacekeepers.

That’s this week’s edition of “Like I always say…”
