More of Pastor Ed’s Sayings
July 6th, 2008 | by Ed |Here are some more of the sayings that I’m constantly saying. As long as you’re not getting sick of them, I’ll keep them coming.
* Many people treat God like the spare tire in their trunk–good to have in case of an emergency, but you hope you never need it.
* We ask too little, and expect it too soon.
* You don’t have to defend the lion, just let him out of the cage (Spurgeon).
* To know Christ means not only appropriating the WORK of cross, but embracing the WAY of the cross.
* Prayer is not trying to overcome God’s relunctance, but embracing God’s willingness.
* Jesus rarely stays within the boundaries of our comfort zone. If we’re going to follow Him, we”ll need to leave our comfort zone.
* God’s greatest gifts are not things but opportunities.
* The punch that knocks you out is not the hardest one, but the one you didn’t see coming (Joe Louis).
* Obedience is putting your hand to what your heart prompts.
* For many people Trivial Pursuit is not just a game, it’s a lifestyle.
